AutumnDango (dumplings)
Tsukimi Dango
月見団子
White rice dumplings stacked as an offering to the autumn moon.
About this wagashi
On the night of the harvest moon (jugoya), families in Japan stack round dango on a stand and display them with pampas grass to give thanks for the harvest.
How it is made
Rice flour is kneaded with water, rolled into even balls, boiled until they float, and cooled in water to keep them soft and glossy.
